2022

The first pixels

In 2022 I started programming. I didn't have a very clear idea of what I wanted to do with it. There were just things I wanted to build and I didn't know how to go from an idea to something I could open on a screen. The solution ended up being to learn.

PelisUp! and TuCinema+.

My first projects were PelisUp! and TuCinema+. They weren't big projects and they didn't have anything especially innovative. They were pages I built to practice and try new things, but they had something important: I had built them from start to finish. I finished them, used them and could see that they worked.

For someone just starting out, going from writing code to having something that actually appears in the browser is a pretty particular feeling.

The first time it worked.

I especially remember one thing: writing something and seeing that the code had a visible result. It wasn't anything impressive. It was probably a div with a background color and some text. But for the first time there was a direct connection between something I had written and something happening on the screen.

That was the part that made me want to keep learning.

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular.

That year I learned the foundations that would end up being part of everything else. HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Angular weren't just new technologies. Each thing I learned let me do something I couldn't before.

The motivation didn't come from completing courses or accumulating certificates. It came from wanting to build something and having a new tool to do it.

2022 wasn't a year of major recognition or well-known projects. It was simply the year I started building things.
